(4marks) • 2. Family life is more important for Catholics than for non-religious people. Do you agree? (6mks) • created by God as the only unit for having & bringing up children • A mother and father who have committed to each other in marriage. • Secure and loving environment because of teachings against divorce and on importance of family. • Morals: place to learn the difference between right and wrong. • Christian faith • learn about who God is, experience Christian faith through prayer, charity, Christian virtues. • For care of parents when too old: 4th Commandment and teaching of Jesus.

Catechetics: Priest: available for counselling, sermons about importance of family & marriage vows. Children’s Liturgies: allows parents to attend Sunday worship, and introduces children to Mass. Information & Support: leaflets on issues eg divorce, homosexuality, mental health, mixed marriage etc. National Family Support programmes.
