  3. The nuclear family and the ‘lack of time’. • The children of nuclear family get much attention from parents . • But may tend to grow selfish . • Lack of sharing and caring • (Parents )Lack of time.

  4. Family a symbol of the Kingdom of God • Few individuals make one family and few families make a society. • Thus, • Family is the smallest unit of society. So family should be the strongest • Symbol of the kingdom of God .

The undue influence of media • Some steps to reduce the influence. • Select the programmes on the basis of a common • discussion and decision by the whole family. • Find out and assess the hidden motives and obscene suggestions of advertisements. • Don’t watch T.V. while you are having your food. It should be a time for togetherness and sharing love and caring. • Fix a time for television watching . • During Lent, we must cut down the time for television and spend more time for our spiritual growth and for virtuous deeds. • Watch the TV program critically • T.V should never become an obstacle to family prayers and studies.

  6. Democracy in Family We should discuss matters and decide family matters but the decisions should be in a accordance with God’s will. Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

  7. A role model family, who want s to make life peaceful and happy : Some factors:- Home- A temple • Constant communion with God. • A family who pray together stay together. • Setting apart some time and place for family prayer. • Spend time in silence before and after prayers.

A role model family, who want s to make life peaceful and happy : Loving talks and acts • Increased Sharing of love among family members • Four Expressions • Thank you gratitude • I love you love • I appreciate encouraging • I am sorry repentance • Expression should be acts of scarifies. • Weakness in the family can be dealt with greater love

  9. A role model family, who want s to make life peaceful and happy : Understand the importance of Correction and punishments • Accept their rebuke( scolding) without any false sense of self respect • Understanding the fact and making changes for improvement.

  10. A role model family, who want s to make life peaceful and happy : The house which extends hospitality • Hospitality is a triumph over selfishness and a reflection of kindness. • Children must show hospitality.
