    1. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 California Weatherization Funding

    2. Traditional California Low Income Weatherization Sources:

    3. How it Works The CSBG program is delivered through 54 community action agencies (CAA’s), 5 migrant farmworker organizations (three community action agencies also serve migrant seasonal farmworkers), 3 Native American organizations and 4 limited purpose agencies, all of whom have been designated and approved in the CSBG State Plan.   The DOE WAP program is delivered through 44 local service providers (LSP’s), all of whom receive both LIHEAP and DOE WAP funding to strategically leverage the funding and technical resources and specifications that both programs offer.  About half of the energy providers also serve as the local community action agency, further leveraging the federal programs. The energy providers have all been designated and approved in the LIHEAP State Plan and the DOE WAP State Plan.    The following chart shows what CSD will receive as a result of ARRA funding. There are four energy service providers or eligible entities in Los Angeles. And there are several Community Action Agencies in Los Angeles but the Long Beach organization is the only one that provides weatherization/energy assistance according to its website and because VG staff have not received phone calls from the other organizations on whether they do weatherization services. 4. Where the Weatherization Money is going: Veterans in Community Services (VICS) is not receiving funds due to a recent enforcement action taken by CSD.   With regard to the City of LA CDD, County of LA DPSS, Foothill Unity Center and Long Beach CAP, yes they are all CSBG ARRA grantees.  You may want to refer to our website www.csd.ca.gov , on top of the page click on the Recovery Act Tab, on the right hand side of the page double click on CSD ARRA documents, and then go from there.
