What is an Integrated Preschool? • The integrated program provides educational and developmental services for 3, 4, and 5 year old children with disabilities as well as children who are typically developing (peer partners). • Curriculum meets the developmental needs of all learners following the Massachusetts State Frameworks. • Language based program providing all children with the opportunity to learn with and from each other.
Circle Time Language, fine motor skills, social skills, curriculum based academic skills Language, name recognition, turn taking, social skills
Specialized Components • Occupational, physical, and speech and language therapists are available for students who require specialized therapy to be successful in preschool. • Accommodations are provided as necessary for individual learners.
Speech and Language Therapy Room Students receive the appropriate services needed whether in the classroom or in a separate setting.
Preschool Curriculum • Developmentally appropriate based on: • Massachusetts Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks for Early Childhood: Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences • Combination of teacher directed and student centered activities • Interdisciplinary thematic approach • Mathematics, English Language Arts and Science
Routines are established right from the beginning of preschool. Encouraging Independence Daily Schedule

Transportation • Transportation is provided by parents. • A preschool staff member assists students out of their vehicles, and walks students down to their classroom. • A car line card will be given to you to help us with arrival and dismissal.
Admission Guidelines • Child must be three by September 1, 2013. • Submit an application, registration, and a copy of birth certificate by January 31, 2013 • Lottery will take place February 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM. • Parents/Guardians will be notified with a phone call if their name is chosen. • Parents/Guardians will be notified by mail if their name is not chosen. They will be given the option of remaining on a wait list in case any slots become available.
How are children assigned to a session? • Children are assigned to the AM (9:05-11:35) or PM (12:45-3:15) session. • As a rule, younger children are placed in the AM session and older children are placed in the PM session. • Generally students in the AM sessions are working on different developmental skills than a student in the PM session.
