The design, implementation, delivery and evaluation of community-based activity programmes in which Professor Macfarlane and Dr Visser have been involvedwill be presented. Date of event: 2.30pm-4.00pm on Monday 6th of August 2007 Venue: Room A131-132, Govan Mbeki Building, Glasgow Caledonian University Cost: no fee but if you are intending to attend please inform Margaret Grant Who should attend: Anybody with an interest in activity in older adults is welcome to attend. Details of the Speakers: Dr Mary Visser is an exercise physiologist who teaches exercise science and nutrition at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. Her current research involves the implementation of a large community-based fall prevention group programme in Minnesota.Professor Pommy Macfarlane teaches exercise gerontology and biomechanics at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. She is director of a community fall preventive partnership between the university and a retirement facility.
