Procedure: Set up 25 dominoes in a straight line. Try to keep equal spacing between the dominoes. Using a metric ruler, measure the total length of your row of dominoes, and record. Using a stopwatch or the second hand on a watch, time how long it takes for the entire row of dominoes to fall. Record the time. Predict what would happen to the amount of time if you changed the distance between the dominoes. Record your prediction. Repeat steps 2 and 3 four times, using distances between the dominoes that are smaller or larger than in your first setup. Record the time an total length of your row of dominoes for each trial. You should have a total of 5 trials.
Analysis: • How did the spacing between the dominoes affect the average speed? • Did your results confirm your predictions? Explain. Make a line graph of your results. Conclusion: Using your results, write a one paragraph conclusion on the relationship between speed and distance.
