Who Founded It ? • It Is said to be believed that Sir Walter Raleigh got permission from Queen Elizabeth l , To establish the first colony Roanoke . • Roanoke became the lost city of Roanoke when the governor went back to England for supplies and returned to nothing but a skull, and a branch that had the words COATOAN. • No one knows what happened to the lost city of Roanoke but there are many theories to what may have happened. One theory is that they were attacked by a Native American tribe , half of them were killed and the others joined the tribe.
