RIDERSHIP AND TRIP PURPOSE OVERVIEW/TRENDS
Bend Ridership Trends Fixed route
Current Ridership Trip Purpose: Bend Fixed Route On-board Survey March ‘12 COCC/OSU, HS 34,020 rides on fixed route in March 2012
Non-Bend Trip Purpose Regional Trip Purpose (non-Bend), average over 2 years INSET: Community Connector Trips Only
Funding Challenges • Need to develop 50% local match for federal grants, but local sources are diminishing • BETC phasing out • PEP gone, DHS gone, COCOA ½ former level • City of Bend commitment to $1 million in local match/year expires in 2015 • Makes it very difficult to spend time improving the system (chasing $) • Difficult to plan for future service. • Driving potential service cutbacks to regional system over next two years LINK
