2. 18-22/4/2005 "3rd EGEE conference" The 3rd EGEE (www.eu-egee.org) project conference will be hostedby GRNET in Athens, Greece. EGEE led by the panEuropean OrganisationCERN constitutes the most significant project in the area of Gridtechnologies.The EGEE project brings together experts from over 27 countries withthe common goal of building on recent advances in Grid technology anddeveloping a production-quality Grid infrastructure in Europe which is available to scientists 24 hours-a-day.The project aims to provide researchers in academia and industry withaccess to major computing resources, independent of their geographiclocation attracting a wide range of new users to the Grid. 3. 18-22/4/2005 "3rd EGEE conference“ (2/2) Funded by the European Commission with 32 Million Euros (total budgetin the order of 100 Million), the EGEE project community has beendivided into 12 partner federations, consisting of over 70 contractorsand over 30 non-contributing participants covering a wide-range ofboth scientific and industrial applications.The conference will be a workshop based event, where many members fromvarious EC Research Infrastructure Grid projects will participate todiscuss key issues and work together to overcome known problems, torelay solutions and to discuss the potential problem areas with thenext stage of the Project.
