Course Overview • In this one semester course, students will be responsible for: • Creating, developing, writing, editing, designing, and producing three issues of the school newspaper, Sailors On the Scene. • Writing daily/weekly stories for the Blog as well as maintaining the Sailors On the Scene Facebook page.

  3. Our Motto “GOOD IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH, IT HAS TO BE GREAT!”

  4. Expectations • You do not stop working until it is GREAT • Take care of your responsibilities • Tell the true story • Make sure the work is your own

  5. Rules • Be RESPONSIBLE • Be RESPECTFUL • Be PREPARED • Follow the SOS Staff Manual and Acceptable Use Agreement

  6. Procedures & Routines All classroom procedures and routines will be followed each day to allow for a safe and effective learning environment.

  7. Grading Students will be graded on their work and points will be awarded based on draft checklists and/or performance evaluations. There will not be a lot of opportunities to earn points, so each check will be of the utmost importance.

  8. Grading Scale A 93-100 A- 90-92 B+ 88-89 B 83-87 B- 80-82 C+ 78-79 C 73-77 C- 70-72 D+ 68-69 D 63-67 D- 60-62 F 0-60
