Support the will of the people • Did away with unpopular taxes/domestic taxes • Walked to inauguration-no fancy carriage ride • Did not support taxing money people earned from work • Stressed need to protect civil liberties • Whiskey tax • Passes laws needed to carry out plan • Let Alien and Sedition Act expire

  4. Keep Government Small Kept government to only several hundred people Government protects from foreign threats, deliver mail, Collect custom duties Hopefully this would help repay National Debt

  5. Reduce Armed ForcesCUT SPENDING Reduces Navy to 7 active ships Reduce the number of people serving in Army Help to reduceexpenses Help to pay off National Debt
