    1. EMUNDUS15 ERASMUS MUNDUS EXTERNAL COOPERATION WINDOW (EMECW) - Lot 15 MOBILITY EUROPE - BRAZIL

    2. WHAT IS EMECW? The EM ECW is a co-operation and mobility scheme in the area of higher education co-operation launched by Europe Aid cooperation Office in 2007 and implemented by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Main objective: to achieve better understanding and mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries co-operation in the field of higher education through promoting the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level. Objectives of EMECW To enhance the international co-operation capacity of universities in third countries; To promote co-operation between sending and hosting institutions; To enable students to benefit linguistically, culturally and educationally from the experience of pursuing academic studies in another country, and to promote EU values; To improve the transparency and recognition of studies and qualifications, in particular building on the "acquis" and achievements gained of the Bologna process in this area; To provide good students from vulnerable groups with higher education; To enhance the skills and qualifications of foreign higher education staff so that they can contribute actively towards improvement of quality; To build the capacity of the administration and public and private sector by participation of their staff in higher education mobility activities (especially through doctorate and post-doctorate activities); To enhance in the medium term the political, cultural, educational and economical links between the European Union and Third-countries.

Our project: EMUNDUS15 The EMUNDUS15 project, coordinated by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela is one of the three proposals approved by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency for the Lot 15 – Brazil, in June 2009. European Commission Funding: €3,057,150 Mobilities: 171 * 145 mobilities addressed to beneficiaries from Brazil to study in Europe * 26 mobilities addressed to European beneficiaries to study in the Brazilian universities of the consortium Academic levels: undergraduate, doctorate, post-doctorate and academic staff. Priority fields of study: Education and Teacher Training; Engineering and Technology; Social Sciences.

Characteristics of the mobility programme EMUNDUS15 BENEFICIARIES Students and academic staff from one of the universities of the consortium: Beneficiaries from Brazil will carry out their mobility in one of the European universities from the consortium. European Beneficiaries will carry out their mobility in one of the Brazilian universities of the consortium.

    8. Characteristics of the mobility programme EMUNDUS15 GRANT AMOUNT EMUNDUS15 covers the travel expenses, the insurance costs, and a monthly subsistence allowance of: €1,000 for Undergraduate €1,500 for Doctorate €1,800 for Post-doctorate €2,500 for Academic staff DURATION OF THE MOBILITY

Characteristics of the mobility programme EMUNDUS15 ACADEMIC RECOGNITION The participation in this programme guarantees the mutual recognition of credits between the sending and the hosting institutions of the consortium. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Launching: 1st October 2009 BEGINNING OF THE MOBILITIES Date for beginning of individual mobilities: 1st April 2010 It must be taken into account that most of the individual mobilities will start in August 2010. Deadline for beginning of individual mobilities: 1st September 2010
