Challenges with Parenting • Parenting concerns; parents concern about kids education • Overprotection of children • Unspoken abuse / neglect/ lose-lose relationship • Lack of boundaries • Group childminding/ Lack of parenting skills • Overwhelming amount of issues Parents have to deal with • Lack of involvement of fathers in children’ life • No Manual! Youth often Forgotten • Issues of over protection or neglect: youth forgotten • Absent parents; often fathers • Young children supposed to be “mature” • Demand for respect from parents • Teenager’s need not understood • Excessive amount of pressure on kids to study = become doctors/engineers • At times lack of respect for children’s wants-wishes-dreams • Parents know better; A disease unclassified.
