FAMILY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM What is it? Avoluntary home visitation program for families of young children who have been referred to Department of Human Services where a case has not been opened, but issues of family support have been identified. The program aims to protect children from abuse/neglect, strengthen families, and increase children’s safety. What is offered? –Assessment of families’ strengths and needs including the development of each child. -- Counseling geared toward stress reduction, development of both formal and informal supports and skill development. -- Parenting education -- Linkages to other supportive services to address other needs that the family identifies. -- Monitoring of child’s development Who is eligible? A family who: 1. Is caring for a child birth to 5 years of age 2. Has not received services from DHS within the last 6 months, (this does not apply for newborns) 3. Is interested in the service 4. Is a Philadelphia resident Who provides the service? The Family Partnership Network. It is composed of four well established child welfare agencies: Caring People Alliance Family Support Services Philadelphia Society For Services to Children Youth Service, Inc. What’s the referral process?
