  3. Love vs Lust Actions Purpose To understand the scientific difference between love and lust. • Complete the “prediction” part of your worksheet • Watch the Ted Talk and fill in the answers as you go. • Answer the reflection questions afterwards.

  4. Love v. Lust - LUST • Lust • Draw to someone based solely on and arousal • Filled with desire that doesn't stop • Brain is producing high levels of hormones • your partner • Lust makes you blind - In fact most see the person they want to see • Person is impressive in every way • Small problems don't matter at all • Over time, these behaviors become • Begin to see person as flawed • Lust at this point • Lust declines in relationships

  5. Love v Lust - LOVE • Love • Produce - opposite to wild sex hormones that ignite lust • 4 Ways to determine that what you have is love, not lust • 1. - When you are in love you want your partner to connect with all the important people in your life • Want them to like friends and family and vice versa - • Want to show them off - Don't keep them to yourself, bring them out • 2. Use "" language rather than "" • Love implies that people's lives are intertwined • More intertwined --> more overlap --> more mutuality = people refer to themselves as a couple • 3. - What you tell the other person about you • Encourages you to express information about yourself to the other person (Especially deep concepts) • Tell them confidential info and all secrets • In a relationship - out layers of an onion - peel back and get closer to the core of who you are • Lust - only peel away a few of those layers - Don't explain the core of yourself • 4. • What one person does or wants to do it influence the other in meaningful or strong ways • I.e. Big Change - go to partner before making a big decision, support, assistance, or to share a positive experience.

  6. Consent Actions Purpose To put to bed, once and for all, what is legal and what is not when it comes to consent. Turns out it’s pretty simple. • Read the background info on consent and answer questions 1a – 3. • Fill out the chart at the bottom guessing which scenario is legal or illegal • Watch the video (and enjoy) • Change your chart to correct for any wrong answers • Complete part 3 on the back.
