  29. Scholars Program Selected student members experience the annual APICS International Conference & Expo by attending educational sessions, networking events, and visiting the exposition. Scholars explore careers in the operations and supply chain management fields through first-hand contact with professionals in their field. Each year, a career fair connects students to companies hiring for internships, early, and mid-level career positions. Scholars receive: complimentary conference registration, $200 stipend, 5 nights hotel, an APICS professional mentor, and more! In 2013, 69 scholars attended APICS 2013; 4 Mexico, 1 Brazil, 1 France, and 1 Argentina.

  31. To Apply to Become an APICS Scholar 2014 APICS Scholar Program October 19 – 21, 2014 New Orleans, Louisiana, USA On April 1st, join APICS as a student member. You will be sent a 2014 APICS Scholar Application when they are released later in the month. All qualifying students with funding will be accepted into the program. You can also apply for a scholarship. The APICS Foundation awards a significant number of scholarships each year covering on-site expenses (food, lodging, conference registration, expense stipend. Travel is not included in the scholarship award.

  32. APICS 2013: International Student Team Competition (ISTC) In spring 2013, five of the nine APICS districts hosted case competitions. For the first time since 2008, all winning district teams competed for cash prizes on-site at APICS 2013 in Orlando. Over the course of 2 days, student teams engaged in approximately five rounds of a computer simulation via The Fresh Connection. Teams also presented their competition strategies to over 100 conference attendees as well as competition judges. The winning team from Purdue University took home $2500!

  33. APICS 2014: International Student Team Competition (ISTC) In 2014, eight of the nine APICS districts will be hosting student team/case competitions. Winners will be representing their districts at ISTC. Additionally, over 200+ teams (primarily international) will be participating in a virtual competition via The Fresh Connection APICS Global Challenge. The 2014 ISTC will double in size and be truly international! Teams from Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, North America + the 8 district teams will be competing for cash prizes and prestige.

Career Development Webinars In January 2014, we kicked off the 1st APICS students and young professionals webinar, ‘APICS & You.’ These free webinars will continue to take place monthly and the sessions will be posted on the Foundation website. Topics are generated from practitioners, academics, APICS staff and students/yp (via member survey feedback). • Supply Chain Career Paths • SCM across cultures • Life after graduation • How to network and take advantage of career opportunities • How to land your dream job • And more!

Legacy Scholarships James Greathouse Scholarship Select recipients seeking the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation may qualify for vouchers for APICS CPIM or CSCP courseware and exams. The certification must be completed within two years of the scholarship award. George & Marion Plossl Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Supports dissertation research on any topic relevant to the supply chain or operations management discipline(s) that has the potential to yield novel managerial and practical insights. Scholarship winners present their research at the APICS International Conference and Expo.

  37. E-Mentors Via the Supply Chain Channel, in spring of 2014, students will have an opportunity to ask questions to supply chain and operations management leaders. These ‘e-mentors’ will provide students with open dialogue concerning career/educational information. More information coming soon…
