  2. Background • Established in August 1999 from a loose partnership led by LBI funded under ESF O3 P4 Programme (1993-1999) A London wide capacity building programme to build capacity of the voluntary sector to gain access to ESF funding.

  3. Membership • Open to all sectors - voluntary, statutory & private pre/vocational training providers • Organisations that complement training provision by offering specialist support services e.g., supplementary schools, homeless, mental health, disabled etc. - to ensure that the network adopts a holistic and coordinated approach to LM integration for the most disadvantaged and hard to reach groups

  4. Role and Function Capacity Building relating to Training and Employment (economic inclusion): • Project Development: Co-ordination of partnerships for submission of bids as sources of funding • Project Management and Administration • Strategic role in policy development • Disseminate information and policy updates

  5. Decision MakingOperational Structure ITN Board - reps from membership, elected annually and a few co-opted members for particular expertise • 3 to 5 year business plan • Annual Plan outlining key priorities, objectives, outcomes with timescale

  6. Operational Structure Staff: 3 Teams • Projects • Support: Core permanent staff • Services & Income Generation

  7. Work as a Consortium • Get access to funding through co-ordination of partnerships for submission of bids as sources of funding • Opportunity to collaborate with other organisations through a neutral structure • Get project management and administration service (someone else organises the monitoring, the paperwork, the reports etc). • Get support, information and advice.
