Etienver (2003) • Helium + alcohol mixture • High energy crossing electrons (> 4.5 MeV) • V. I. Tretyak (2003/2004) • Helium + alcohol + argon + water • > Feb 2003 • Works well for drift time > 60 ns In both cases: TDCFAST_MIN = 220 drift time cut off at 1750 ns All planes calibrated together
Data selection Performed calibration on 1 year of data: Jan-Dec 2006 (inclusive): 814 betabeta runs Track cuts: 2 tracks negative curvature associated with scintillator 2 scintillators hit angle from z-axis: min = 40°, max = 140°. cosine θ ≤ -0.5 Energy cuts: minimum energy = 200 keV maximum energy = 100 GeV Time of flight cuts: internal tof: < 1% external tof: > 4% Vertex cuts: dr < 2 cm dz < 4 cm Other: Geiger hit assoc with track
At low drift times, Gaussian fits bad (give negative medians) use mode At higher drift times, Gaussian fits are better and lower stats make the mode redundant Use Gaussian Cut on first plane: chi2/ndf > 3.5 Cut on second plane: chi2/ndf > 5 Cut on fourth plane: chi2/ndf > 3.3 Cut on fifth plane: chi2/ndf > 2.5 Cut on seventh plane: chi2/ndf > 2.5 Cut on eighth plane: chi2/ndf > 3.8 Cut on ninth plane: chi2/ndf > 2.5
