  3. Prevention, Screening, Early Detection, Survivorship • Everyone: Get yourself checked • Survivors: • Depends on type of treatment, determines any greater risks

  4. General: Healthy Eating • Food for thought….

  5. Diet: Healthy is Healthy • Healthy eating Healthy drinking • Colon/GI cancer • Renal cancer • Head and Neck • Breast Cancer • GYN • prostate • Cardiac compromise • Endocrine • Cant go wrong!

  6. Diet: Cancer Prevention Tips Eat more of a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes such as beans. Limit consumption of red meats (such as beef, pork and lamb) and avoid processed meats. If consumed at all, limit alcoholic drinks to 2 for men and 1 for women a day. Limit consumption of salty foods and foods processed with salt (sodium).

Diet: Cancer Prevention Tips • Red meat may increase risk: • Colorectal, esophagus, lung, pancreas, endometrium • Processed meat may increase risk: • Esophagus, lung, stomach, prostate • Grilled/Charbroiled meat may increase risk: • Stomach • Research suggests eating at least 5 servings vegetables and fruits per day can prevent at least 20% of all cancers (AICR)
