  4. Getting the Contract • Remember that publishing is a business • Identify suitable publishers • Meet/contact publishers • Write a proposal

  5. Writing the Book • Don’t write before you have a contract! • Don’t just reproduce your PhD • Set realistic deadlines (and keep them) • Keep in contact with your publishers

  6. After the book • Promote your book • Develop a relationship with your publishers
