Nice to Know • Drinking can lead to: • Domestic Violence • Many more children every year are abused by a parent using alcohol • Rape • People may not acknowledge the word no. • Suicide • Depression and sadness increase with drinking. • Law-breaking • Violating School Policies • 40% of college students have engaged in binge drinking in the last year.

Necessary Skills • There is always a “No” Factor when it comes to drinking. • Physical Activity is a major way to keep from drinking. • Being around friends who do not use alcohol. • Involvement in your school where alcohol is never present • Ex: Clubs or sports teams
Binge Drinking and its correlation to Hazing • Binge Drinking- drinking five in a row by males and four in a row by females. • Many people are unaware that binge drinking is related to hazing. • The biggest factor played into binge drinking and hazing is drinking games. • The loser of the game must drink large quantities of alcohol, which causes many college related deaths.
Positive and Negative Effects of Alcohol Positives negatives • Having a higher self esteem • Relationships are improved • Making correct judgments • Overall health is improved • Losing close friends • Being Isolated • Depression • Destroying families • Thoughts of suicide • Prevents you from being productive
