  2. The Need for Roxio • It allows you to easily create: • Music CDs • Data CDs • Copies of CDs • We will now go through the procedure for creating a Data CD

  3. Making a Data CD • It is useful if you want to back up files from your computer, or for storing multimedia or graphics on a CD. • All computers with CD-R or CD-RW drives will be able to utilize this function.

  4. How to Start • Open Roxio 5.0 Easy CD creator • Select“DATA CD Project” • A new window with two sections will appear labeled: • Source File Section • CD File Section

  5. Burning Files • Drag the files you wish to burn from the “source file section” to the “CD-File section” • After you added all the files you wanted to add, click on “record” to start burning the CD. • Select your CD-Burner as the CD-R Drive

  6. Burning Files (continued) • Set the writing speed to the maximum writing capacity of your blank CD • Make sure “buffer under run prevention” is on, to successfully burn your CD. • After all options are selected click on “start recording” to burn the CD. • After the recording has completed, you can then retrieve the disc from the drive.

  7. DEMO • Now we will actually burn a real file to a real CD for demonstration purposes • Then we will access the file from the burned disc to make sure that the copying process was completed successfully
