Usability Testing – Reports from Several Schools • Discovery tools (DT) are popular across all user groups. • Of all user groups, DT are least popular with graduate students. • Overall, DT are much more popular with users than with librarians. • DT are perceived as easy to use. • Users like being able to search many sources through one search box. • All schools that have done usage studies report significant increases in full text items retrieved.
UNCG Librarians • Do you use EDS at the Reference Desk? • 3 out of 6 said yes • “I typically don’t show it because, honestly, I just don’t think about it” • “Yes if they are doing a more general topic”
