HW#5 • Create a "wanted" poster with 4 reasons why Robespierre is a criminal. • On a piece of printer paper, draw a picture of Robespierre or use the printed picture. • List the 4 reasons around the picture. • Extra points can be awarded for creativity. • Due MONDAY (10/15)
Vocabulary • Coup d'état: (“coo dey tah”) A sudden seizure of political power. • Napoleonic Code: Legal code that included many Enlightenment ideas, such as equality and religious toleration.
Napoleon Bonaparte • Famous war hero • 1799: Coup d'état- Napoleon seized power from the weak Directory. • He organized a new government and put himself in charge (1st Consul). • 1802 - Napoleon takes the title “Emperor of the French” • French people supported Napoleon at every step.
