  2. What advantages are produced in an athlete taking growth factors? • What are the health risks of taking anabolic steriods? • Why are these substances banned from sport? What are the ethical arguments?

  3. What advantages are produced in an athlete taking growth factors? • Anabolic steroids are similar to the hormone testosterone. • The effects are similar to those seen in puberty changes .

  4. What are the health risks of taking anabolic steroids? • Side effects include: • Liver damage  failure • Facial hair growth (in ladies!) • Voice becomes deeper (in ladies!) • Impotence, shrinking testes, breast development (in gentlemen!) • Enlarged organs  heart.
