Getting started... - Note that Food Processor is only available on campus in the library and computer lab - Click the icon “Food Processor SQL”
Creating Recipes: Set Up Opening Screen → Select Recipe
Step 1: Creating Recipes: Set Up - Enter unique recipe name - Enter number of servings, then hit “OK”
Creating Recipes: Ingredient Selection - Search for ingredient (brand name, descriptive word), select the one that matches most closely - Hit “select”
Creating Recipes: Ingredient Selection - Enter quantity (in decimal or fraction) - Enter measure (ex: cup, oz, lb, serving) - Repeat for all ingredients
Additional Note: Editing Recipes - You can easily edit your recipes (helpful if nutrient content is off) - Right-click on an item → select Modify Item - Or double-click (left) on the item in the list
Creating Recipes: Finishing Up - Save your recipe File → Save → Name Recipe → “SAVE”
Create a New Person Profile: Personal - Open → Person → New - Personal → Name, age, gender (Pregnant), ht, wt
Create a New Person Profile: Recommendations - It is possible to override Food Processor’s macronutrient and micronutrient recommendations - When finished hit “OK”
Adding Recipe to Profile - Search for the saved recipe (by the name it was saved under) - Double click on the recipe
Adding Recipe to Profile - Enter quantity, measure (serving, oz, tablespoon) - Enter meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) - Hit “OK” - Repeat for all recipes
Viewing Multi Column Report - Select “Multi-Column” from reports - Check the “Recommended Values” and “Recommended Percents” Boxes - This report should be included when handing in your assignment (File → Print) - Note: Reports can also be saved as .pdfs. This can be helpful as the system deletes all information nightly
Viewing Multi Column Report: Recipe - Multi column reports can also be viewed for individual recipes - Documents → Select Recipe → Multi-column
Viewing Single Nutrient Report - Helpful when trying to determine what foods are providing a high content of specific nutrients - Can use this tool for individual recipes, meals or days
Troubleshooting - Make sure you use the correct oz… fluid oz versus weight oz when entering measurements - Sometimes recipes come out looking wrong… if this happens go back and double check your quantities and ingredients selected - If you can’t find the ingredient you are looking for, try rewording your search or finding something similar, although there are many, food processor is not exhaustive - Pay attention to abbreviations and brand (cnd = canned, bkd = baked)
