What is Social Bookmarking? Instead of keeping bookmarks all to yourself, you can easily share them with friends, family, and colleagues. • Web 2.0 application • Sharing bookmarks with others • Available from anytime, anywhere • Organize links • Tagging • Web of information
What is Tagging? Tagging uses word association to categorize, organize, and share bookmarks. • Several words to describe or name an article • Descriptive or personal meaning • Simple way to organize information (in theory) Sample tags for the movie "Jurassic Park:" dinosaurs, suspense, t-rex, raptors, Steven Spielberg, Jeff Goldbloom, movies, sci-fi, novels, Michael Crichton, cloning, DNA, genetics, series, triceratops
