  2. Social Bookmarking • Social Bookmarking is for collecting a set of resources that are to be shared with others. Anyone can participate in social bookmarking. • These bookmarks are usually public, and can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination of public and private domains.

  3. Old –style bookmarking • The old style bookmarking is called favorites or Internet shortcuts in Internet Explorer. • Bookmarks are normally accessed through a menu in the user's web browser, and folders are commonly used for organization. • The problem with this is massive and if you change the computer, the website that you save in the favorite won’t show on the page because it will save just in the computer that you save.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL BOOKMARKING? • You can find the website even you change the computer. • You not need to remember or write the URL. • If you have too many bookmark sites, you can find sort out your bookmark by the tag. • Others can use your bookmark sites and you can use others too!

What are the possible drawbacks? • Tag – unclear or wrong spellings of word, keywords that have more than one meaning. • Spam and corruption - Social bookmarking can also be susceptible to corruption and collusion. It as a tool to use along with search engine optimization to make their website more visible. Spammers have started bookmarking the same web
