  2. What is Social Bookmarking? Social Book Marking is a way to: save and access your favourite websites from any computer share and discuss your finds with others who have similar needs and tastes organize the resources you find in many different ways Watch this video

  3. Why use Diigo? • Works the same way as Delicious but . . . • Highlight parts of a website • Annotate the site for others • Leave a digital “sticky note” • Watch this video.

  4. Why use Social Bookmarking? For your own Professional Development (PLN) For collaboration with teachers For researching with students

  5. How can we use this as PD? • Create Lists for yourself • Join groups that interest you • Start a group and invite others • Interact with other educators • Build on the work of others and share your work

  6. How can we use this with teachers? Create a Group for your staff Add recommended links for curriculum Encourage them to add links to share with others Develop a “common tag dictionary”

  7. How can we use this with students? Organize their research with tags Create groups for sharing research Annotate how they used the site Teacher can monitor student research process Teacher can add sites to the group’s lists

  8. How do we get started? Signing up Diigolet or Diigo Toolbar? Adding a bookmark Choose Tags Create a List Share with a Group Annotating a Website Highlighting a Webpage Leaving a Sticky Note Organizing and Searching Your Library Joining Groups Diigo

  9. Working Break Add the Digolet to your favourites Add some annotated bookmarks and create some lists. Experiment with highlights and sticky notes. Join the RETSD Teacher Librarians Group and any others that interest you. Spend the next 30 minutes setting up your Diigo account and having a coffee break.
