  5. Motivation for Project • Teaching students is wonderful: when they are at school. Leaving NO Child Behind Not setting a student up for failure Taking and Passing the SOL test

  6. Statistics • Using School Information on students in grade 8 Pass/Fail Rate on Various SOL Tests Number of Days attended school Poverty Information: Based on School Lunch Program: Free, Reduced, Full Price Racial Make-up of Student Samples

  7. Data • Statistical Information will be entered into the SPSS program • The samples will be pulled from the given information and a determination will be assessed as to whether there is a positive correlation between any of the two pieces of data.

  8. Completion Dates • Research completion May 2004 • First Draft for review June 2004 • Final Draft July 1, 2004 • Seminar Presentation July, 2004 • Final Written Product August 1, 2004
