Programme: Regional Socio-Economic Development Programme II (RSEDP2) • Total eligible cost of the action: 755.575,91 € • Funded by EU Delegation to Serbia: 680.018,319 € • Total duration of the action: 27 months • Locations of the action: Serbia Braničevo and Podunavlje, Central Serbia, South Banat, Smederevska Palanka, Smederevo, Kragujevac, Pančevo
OBJECTIVES Overall objective of the action is to contribute to better preconditions for sustainable economic growth and human resource development in the regions with the highest concentration of manufacturing and engineering industry of Serbia, in particular Braničevo and Podunavski, Central Serbia and Banat (South) Specific Objectives: • To improve competitiveness of enterprises operating in manufacturing and engineering industry in targeted regions by implementing state of the art technology solutions and enhancing their human resource capacities through research, innovation, quality control services and training services. • To promote inter-institutional partnerships between knowledge centres and targeted industry • To position Smederevska Palanka as a Centre of innovation and technology transfer for new welding technologies, material science and engineering in Serbia and in the Western Balkans by improving research and vocational training infrastructure, upgrading of existing and developing new accredited lab and training services
RESULTS Significantly improved and modernized research, laboratory and training facilities in SmederevskaPalanka
About 1000 m2 of Institute Goša in SmederevskaPalanka modernized and energy efficiency of old premises significantly improved: 2 laboratory • mechanical laboratory • metallographic laboratory 3 training facilities • conference room • computer classrooms • practical training workshop space for new trainings in advanced welding technologies

RESULTS RESULTS Mechanical lab equipment improved • data acquisition system on existing Sharpy's pendulum • measurement and data acquisition system for the determination of the tensile force of the sample • Mechanical testing of metal materials in MML upgraded • for: • productlife assessment analysis • further risk assessment analysis • fracture testing
Mechanical testing of metal materials in MML is upgraded : • Separating the total impact energy, the energy of creation and the energy spread of crack, which is judged to plasticity of materials. • Introduction of methods for monitoring the behaviour of metallic and semi-finished products in the presence of defects • Universal testing of tightening and pressure • Digital reading based on force-time, force –elongation. • Improving the registration – recording, readings of force in the growth function of time and force to function elongation • Analysis of the behaviour of the system in operation and life assessment- practical application in industry
RESULTS Metallographic lab equipment improved • device for equipment and software for data acquisition the existing microscope NEOPHOT 30 • device for electrochemical polishing of samples • device for preparation of metallic samples
Metallographic testing of metal materials in MML is upgraded: • very precisely analyse of micro-and macro structures • variety of analyses of very thin metallic samples • higher quality testing and registration – recording and higher quality of images • higher quality of preparation of metallic samples for testing -higher magnification of x 600 • practical application in industry
RESULTS Welding equipment for new training programmes in 3 new advanced welding techniques purchased: • multitask machines 250 A for MIG/MAG/TIG/E • MIG/MAG machines 400 A with water cooling • auxiliary equipment for safety, preparation of samples and theoretical education
Better conditions and higher standard for provision of training programme for practical training of welders, improved safety and health conditions and energy efficiency and computer supported trainings • Training centre for new welding techniques according to EU standards and norms. • Health and safety conditions are enhanced. • Maximal safety during practical welding trainings is assured. • Process for detection of mistakes is speed up. • Conditions for certification and later on implementation of training programmes for 3 advanced welding technologies and for implementation of 3 different specialised engineering software have been met. • Quality of trainings and in particular quality of the preparation of samples are improved. • Computer classroom equipped and ready for trainings of engineering software.

RESULTS Established 4 new tailor made training programmes and tools for facilitation of technology transfer and innovation: • training programme for welding of polymers • 5 instructors trained and licensed for delivering training • training programme for metal welding: - E/TIG/MIG/MAG/G and 136 process: flux cored wire welding • 5 instructors trained and licensed for delivering training

Throught ehese activities the human and institutional capacities to facilitate technology transfer to the target regions are enhanced and advanced technical training programmes, laboratory and R&D services need today are developed: • Provision of a certified training program for welding of polymers, metal welding and ultrasonic welding in Serbia enable faster transfer of this technology and reduce costs for companies. • e-learning programmes for welding technologies here is completely new offer for training and for developing industrial sector. • "iQSim" is an e-learning tool – simulation programme which shows with ease how our choices and variations in welding techniques and procedures have consequences for the outcome, with respect to both quality and costs. It was funded by the EU Commission Leonardo Program under the partnership led by Sør-Trøndelag University College and in cooperation with research and development partners in Sweden, Lithuania, Hungary and Greece. Throught W-tech project this useful and applicable e-learning tool is transferred to Serbian industry. • Advanced software engineering provide optimisation of products, simulation of related processes, assistance in tool design and facilitated tailor made engineering courses (cases).
