Shop Equipment An employee must be very observant of the equipment he/she is using. Report or fix any equipment that is in need of repair for your safety and others

Air Equipment • Keep hoses in good repair • Blow guns • pointing at someone • Safety glasses • Skin cuts • Spinning bearings
Vehicles in the shop • Windows down! • Parking brake! • In park!
Backing vehicles out of the shop I didn’t see it. . . . Really
Spills • Clean up right away • Socks • Cat litter • Empty drain pan as soon as possible • in approve containers
Creepers • Neverleave them laying on the floor • stand them up • place under the vehicle • Always keep walkways clear between cars • creepers, tools cords, spills
Hoists • New hoists • bounce the car from all four corners • after lifting the car 6” • Always have a 2nd person guiding you on and off the hoist • Double check all lift points • Ask when not sure
Jacking a vehicle • Look up the correct lift points • Floor cracks when lifting the 2nd half of the car • Never fully extend a jack stand
Lifting Your 1” in diameter back bone is all there is Never lift this way Use your knees
Batteries • Hydrogen fumes • When? • Charging • Discharging • Hydrogen Bomb? • Negative cable 1st off - last on
