  2. Classroom Environment Classroom Procedures: Even after a few short weeks, the students are aware of the schedule and what they are responsible for doing. If a student forgets, the teacher gives a reminder of what to do next to the whole class, so that one student doesn’t feel isolated. Respect and Rapport: Mrs. Bleck teaches the students how to keep their hands to themselves. Culture for Learning: The teacher has the students build their own dictionary of words they come in contact with that they want to have the correct spelling of or definition. This can then be used for assignments and projects.

  3. Classroom Environment Con’t Student Behavior: The students are aware of how to behave and if they miss behave they move their bee. She did give the students a chance to move their bee back to green. This was effective while I was observing. Organizing Physical Space: Although, she had a small class room she was able to organize her space to benefit the learning environment for the students.

  6. Science Activity - Balance & Motion Con’t The students used a clothes pin, wire, pencil, and clothes pin to try to balance the pencil on the popsicle stick. The students were engaged in the hands on lesson and continued to try to find more than one way to balance. When some of the students had come up with a couple of ways, they would then help their classmates with a solution.

  7. REFLECTION When I was teaching this lesson to the kids, I realized that I need more practice teaching. I wasn’t nervous, but I need to work on my management techniques and using examples that are more on level with the students prior knowledge. I have been relating to adult, lawyers, and secretaries for so long I have gotten our of my kid zone. I believe with practice and the learning of new techniques, I will make a smooth transition into teaching.
