Week of October 6-10 Did you know, Only 10% of energy in a light bulb is used to create light. Ninety percent of a light bulb’s energy creates heat? Mrs. Castillo’s Fourth grade Class Every night, homework will be written in the agenda. I will try every day to give students time in class to start homework. Students are expected to read 20 or more minutes every night. If you need to contact me please send an email or a note. This week you can look forward to: Science: This week looks rather attractive, we will be learning about magnets and electromagnets. (4.3) Math: We have learned the place and value of decimals and this week we will move on to comparing and rounding (4.3b, c) Reading: On Wednesday, we took a test on cause and effect and author’s purpose. This week we will look at problem and solution in a realistic fiction and fantasy text.(4.5 e ) Writing: We will continue our free write and will use a Tree Map to plan. Writing this nine weeks will focus on narrative. VA Studies: We will finish our final unit of the nine weeks and focus on Virginia’s Government (VS.10) Reminders: Students may correct any class work or homework assignment to receive more credit.
