The Scholars Academy Mission To attract and graduate students with a life-long passion for learning and compassion for others, and enable them to translate academic study and personal concern into effective leadership and action in their communities and the world.

The Scholars Academy … Offers college classes & advanced high school classes. Is for Grades 9-12. You must enter in Fall of 9th grade. Is FREE! Allows you to… Earn all high school graduation units in 3 years. Earn about 60 college credits (2 years of college). …and still participate in your own school’s extra curricular activities, sports, clubs, etc.

Requirements • Attend Spartanburg County Public School in Districts 1-7 for grades 9-12. • Maintain A’s & B’s in all courses.
Typical Academic Profile: • Gifted/Talented Student • Score 50+ each section PSAT • Successful Algebra I student • Prof./ Adv. PASS • MAP – above grade level • High academic achiever • Self-motivated • Academically driven

Daily Schedule 8:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. 3 classes MWF, TTh Honors/AP/Dual Credit (college credit) 12-12:30 p.m. Lunch at USC Upstate 12:30 p.m. Return to home school Take at least one class there. Participate in extra-curriculars.
The First 2 Years… classes only with Scholars will have classes with regular college students in 11th & 12th grade classes held in Scholars Academy classrooms second floor Library building buses to and from your school

Selection Process Calendar 2013 • Feb. 1, 2013: Completed student applications due to USC Upstate. When we receive your application, we will send you a card of receipt. • February: Student candidates selected for interviews. • March: Student/parent interview. • April: Candidates chosen and notified.
