IL FIUME BASENTO. IL CORSO DEL FIUME. Il Basento nasce sul monte Arioso, a 1722m s.l.m. E’ lungo 149 km e bagna le provincie di Potenza e Matera. Ha una portata media di 12.2 m. c. ed un bacino idrografico di 1537 km quadrati. Infine sfocia nel mar Ionio. LA SORGENTE.

  2. IL CORSO DEL FIUME • Il Basento nasce sul monte Arioso, a 1722m s.l.m. E’ lungo 149 km e bagna le provincie di Potenza e Matera. Ha una portata media di 12.2 m. c. ed un bacino idrografico di 1537 km quadrati. Infine sfocia nel mar Ionio.

  3. LA SORGENTE • La sorgente si trova a 1722 m sul livello del mare. Essa si trova sul monte Arioso, nell’ Appennino lucano.

  4. L’ALTO BASENTO • Il fiume Basento presenta caratteristiche diverse durante il suo percorso: durante il primo tratto, che va dalla sorgente alla confluenza con il Camastra, scorre tra rocce modellate dall’erosione. Questo tratto è chiamato Alto Basento.

  5. Subito dopo la sorgente, il Basento riceve un primo affluente, un torrente che proviene dal monte Sellata e alle spalle di Pignola incontra il S. Michele. • Arrivato nella zona di Potenza, riceve le acque del Tora e del Gallitello. • Dopo la zona industriale della città raccoglie le acque del Rio Freddo
