  1. Data Consistency: Still a Far CRY? DATA Consistency: WHAT? With all the state of art innovations, data consistency is still one of the most relevant concerns. All the innovations were about to resolve the issues, but it still keeps haunting the data miners. From the advent of the business it’s been there and just keeps on annoying almost all the enterprises. Some of the landmark innovation in data landscape has been marketing automation, AI, account based marketing, targeted email lists and much more. Although, they have made the business operation streamlined and swift, but still a large volume is data is becoming inconsistent.

  2. DATA Consistency: WHY? We live in an age of knowledge avalanche and we are just getting bombarded with knowledge. Same has been with data; as with so much information available focus and segregation is becoming hard to maintain. Moreover data collection is not bounded to any domain and its coming from everywhere. It doesn’t matter if the database is structured or unstructured or its daily news or scientific journal, it’s happening everywhere. Such wide volume of uncategorized data becomes almost inaccessible for quantification or usage. Even if a marketer tries to use such data, it gets him perplexed because of the lack of a proper index. But along with problem this unassessed data has great potential for untapped and new marketing avenues. DATA Consistency: How? One of the major causes of prevailing Data inconsistency is that utility of data varies from perspective to perspective. As an instance a monthly report and its understanding will vary from department to department. As it moves up and own through the hierarchy, same data chart will be evaluated in different way. Hence, to negate the conflicts which arises between operations and strategy out of this variation, Data consistency have to be practiced by organizations at all levels. A better way Data landscape uses familiar terminologies for several instances which creates confusion. The best way to avoid this is to be very specific, with each strand of data even when they fall under same category. Some of the tried and tested measures to achieve such perfection are as follows, Data Governance: Data like every other aspect also needs fail safe. There should be check and monitoring over availability, security, integrity and usage of data. Hence, in this day and age every company needs a team which oversees over the usage of data. There is need for monitoring body which has a dedicated strategy for managing data throughout the organization. The enforcement and automation will help greatly in instilling the Data Consistency. Change management: Executives should be appointed to control and operate the necessary and unnecessary change within the Data collection and data flow. It’s one of the crucial parts of data consistency and manages the change in an orderly fashion, throughout the organization.

A standardized format for such organizational data saves from data redundancy.
