European Extravaganza Pathfinder:Your passport to research! 5th Grade World Studies Mrs. Dietz and Mrs. Urban
Bienvenue! Welkom! Benvenuto! Pack your suitcases and grab your passports, because we’re off to Europe! This pathfinder was created to help you complete your research. On the slides that follow, you will find a variety of resources which are being recommended as an easy way to find the answers to your questions. If you would like to use additional resources, you are welcome to, but just be sure to check their credibility. Don’t forget to use the question sheet to guide your research (Click on this graphic any time you see it for a direct link to the questions page.) and the grading rubric to make sure you cover all of your bases for the presentation and the trifold display board. You are expected to cite all of your sources. Check out the last slide for website links & helpful hints on how to do this. Remember, we are here to assist! Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Have fun & be creative! Hint: To navigate between slides, use the up and down arrows on the keypad.

Citing Your Sources Part of being a responsible researcher is to cite all sources from which you obtain information for use on your project. We strongly suggest you open a Word document in addition to the question page on which you will record your researched answers. Use this word document to record the title of books, journal articles, newspapers, websites, and any other source you use. You will also need publication dates and authors’ names. See the “Write It, Then Cite It” sheet you received in the library when we were doing citing lessons. Once you’ve recorded all of this information, use one of the cites linked below to help you correctly cite your source. It’s a piece of cake! Please be sure to ask for help if you are unsure of what to do!
