  2. rising • Rising means the grade you will be next year: • Current 9th grade=rising 10th • Current10th grade=rising 11th • Current 11th grade=rising senior • Courses for next year are not necessarily the same semester or period for next year

  3. endorsements **Multi-Disciplinary Studies (1 of 3 options below) Arts and Humanities (1 of the 6 options below) 5 total Social Studies Courses 4 consecutive levels of the same Language Other Than English (World Language) 2 levels of the same LOTE and two levels of a different LOTE (ex. Spanish I and II, ASL I and II) 4 levels of American Sign Language 4 consecutive levels from one or two fine arts subjects (ex. Drawing I, II, III, and IV) 4 consecutive English classes among: English IV, Independent Study in English (Internship), Literary Genres, Creative Writing, Research and Technical Writing, Humanities, AP English Literature and Composition, Communication Applications • 4 advanced courses that prepare a student to be in the workforce (can be dual credit, can be within one endorsement area or several) • Four credits in 4 core subject areas (math, science, social studies, English) (Must include (English IV, Chemistry, Physics) • Four Credits in AP or Dual-Credit in the following areas: English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Economics, Languages Other Than English, Fine arts

  4. Endorsements Public Service(1 of 2 options below) STEM (1 of 5 options below) Complete consecutive levels of 4 or more Career Technical Education Courses with the first two of them being from the same career cluster the 3rd CTE credit must be from an advanced course 4th credit must be from a class in the STEM career cluster 4 credits from Computer Science course options (fundamentals of computer science, computer science I, II, and III, AP computer sciences, etc.) 5 math credits including AlgI, Geometry, Alg II, and 2 additional courses which Alg II is a prerequisite) 5 science credits: biology, chemistry, physics, any 2 additional science courses Algebra II, Chemistry, Physics and 3 additional credits from no more than 2 of the areas listed in options 1-4 • Complete consecutive levels of 4 or more Career Technical Education Courses with the first two of them being from the same career cluster • the 3rd CTE credit must be from an advanced course • 4th credit must be from a class in the following career cluster: Education and Training, Government and Public Administration, Health Science, Human Services, Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security • 4 courses in Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC)

Endorsements Business and Industry (1 of 4 options below) • Complete consecutive levels of 4 or more Career Technical Education Courses with the first two of them being from the same career cluster • the 3rd CTE credit must be from an advanced course • 4th CTE credit must come from a class in the following career clusters: Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, Architecture and Construction, Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications, Business Management and Administration, Transportation, Distribution and Logistics, Marketing, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Hospitality and Tourism, Finance • 4 English elective credits by selecting 3 levels from one of the following areas: Advanced Broadcast Journalism, Advanced Journalism Yearbook, Advanced Journalism Newspaper, Public Speaking, Debate • Complete 4 technology application courses from the following options: Digital Design and Media Production, Digital Art and Animation, 3-D Modeling and Animation, digital communications in the 21st Century, Digital Video and Audio Design, Web Communications, Web Design, Web Game Development, Independent Study in Evolving/Emerging Technologies • 4 classes in consecutive levels from options 1-3

  6. Graduation • You need 26 credits to graduate with Distinguished Level of Achievement • Credits must be in specific areas:

Math: Course Selection Rising 12th Graders (current 11th): Rising 10th Graders (current 9th): Rising 11th Graders (current 10th): If Geometry THEN Alg II (H2323z) If Alg II Pre-AP/GT THEN Pre-Cal Pre-AP (H2719z) or Pre-Cal GT (H2720z) • If Alg I THEN Geometry (H2413z) • If Geo Pre-AP/GT THEN Alg II Pre-AP (H2324z) or Alg II GT (H2325z) • If Alg II Pre-AP/GT THEN Pre-Cal Pre-AP (H2719z) or Pre-Cal GT (H2720z) • If AlgII THEN AP Statistics • If Pre-Cal Pre-AP THEN AP Statistics and/or AP Calc BC • Calc BC has dual credit option (you must have completed the TWO packets in order to take dual credit)

Science: Course Selection Rising 12th Graders (current 11th): Rising 10th Graders (current 9th): Rising 11th Graders (current 10th): AP Physics Optional science elective • Chemistry Pre-AP • 4th year of an advanced science (AP Chemistry, AP Physics II, AP Biology, anatomy and physiology, neurobiology, AP Environmental Systems, etc.)

  10. Social studies: Course Selection Rising 12th Graders (current 11th): Rising 10th Graders (current 9th): Rising 11th Graders (current 10th): AP US History • AP World History • AP US Government AND • AP Macroeconomics (0.5 credit each)

TIME for you to do a Transcript audit: in Skyward (Under the portfolio Tile on homepage) BE SURE YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING: • 1.0 Fine Art • 0.5 Health • 1.0 PE • 3.0 Language Other Than English (3 consecutive years) • 4 Math (including Alg I, Geometry, Alg II) • 4 Science (including Biology, Chemistry, Physics) • 4 Social Studies (including World Geography, World History, US History, US Government, Macroeconomics) • 4 English

  14. Watch out for these things • If you are a part of the Gifted and Talented Program, please be sure to sign up for G/T courses • Look for the z at the end of the ISA courses • You MUST request LUNCH

Skyward: Requesting courses • After you click ‘Course Request’, the screenshot to the right opens • Enter your courses by: • Subject • Description • Course number (ISA courses will have a ‘z’ at the end…look for the z) • Then click add • You are only able to earn a maximum of 7 credits+lunch • You MUST REQUEST LUNCH (every student MUST have a lunch period, no exceptions)

  19. Skyward: alternate course choices • Enter alternates by choosing ‘Alternates’ • You can choose a maximum of 3 alternates (the paper copy asks for 8)

  22. Turn in signed paper request • Signed paper course request is DUE: • January 30 • Online course request CLOSES: • February 15
