  7. Basically, the approach I take is this … Determine where the overall market is. Is it heading up? Is it heading down? Is it consolidating? This can be either at a top or a bottom How do we determine market strength? 1) Use of moving averages 2) How do we determine if the market is topping? A. Use of sentiment reading B. % of stocks above their 200 day MA How do we determine if the market has bottom? Same readings(sentiment & & above 200) and panic selling VIX & SPX and major support & resistance lines Once we have an idea of where we are in the terms of the market, then we can trade accordingly.
