  1. Report on Learning How to highlight and print from Adobe Acrobat Reader XI

OPENING THE DOCUMENT TO BEGIN: Open the ROL document in Adobe Reader XI You must have this version or you will not be able to highlight and save) To download the correct version got to: get.adobe.com/reader/ Select Install now, and follow the directions to run the program If you have any issues at all please contact the IT Department at the high school

  3. SAVING & ENTERING INFO. TO BEGIN: Save a blank copy of the file to your H:/drive You may now begin to enter data for each student After entering data for a single student select Save As for the File tab list (top left) and save the file as your students name Enter the student information located on the first page The student’s name will automatically transfer to subsequent pages

HIGHLIGHTING GRADES TO HIGHLIGHT: Select the highlight button at the top of your toolbar You will now be able to highlight sections of text with the highlighter tool If you are unable to select the highlight function then your Adobe Reader is not up-to-date Go to: get.adobe.com/reader/ to update your Adobe Reader to XI

CHANGING HIGHLIGHTING COLOR CHANGE THE HIGHLIGHT COLOR: To be able to easily view the highlighting when you print: Right click the area that you have highlighted Open the properties Select the Orange square (third row, second column) Then select the Make Properties Default If you do not select this box then the highlight color will not stay

SWITCH BETWEEN HIGHLIGHT & TOUCH MODE SWITCH BETWEEN MODES: To be able to easily view switch between highlight mode and touch (typing) mode: Right click the highlight icon on the toolbar Select Touch Mode from the drop-down list Select the Touch Mode icon To switch between modes select the drop-down arrow (left of Touch Mode icon) and select the highlighter It may take a few tries to get the switching down Drop-down arrow Touch Mode

  7. ENTERING NOTES – On the Last Page ENTERING NOTES: The last page contains a notes section (which can be seen highlighted in blue at the bottom of this picture) This box will not been shown when you print, so if you would like to add notes to your ROL you may or you can skip this PRINTING: You may now print your Report On Learning for your student (2-sided, black & white, and stapled)
