Descriptive Cataloging Using RDA • Nine-module curriculum • Developed by Tim Carlton (Library of Congress) and Dr. Ingrid Hsieh-Yee (Catholic University) • For LIS students and new catalogers • Will be made available on the Cataloger’s Learning Workshop web page (www.loc.gov/catworkshop)
Cabo Verde • Cape Verde was revised to Cabo Verde • Due to December 2013 BGN decision • Associated name headings were adjusted in May • Forty proposals to revise subject authorities appear on July’s Tentative List
South Australia • Abbreviation revised to S.A. from S. Aust. • Name authorities were adjusted in early 2014 • Sixty proposals to revise subject authorities appeared on April’s Tentative List
Malaysia • No longer listed as a country whose states are not qualified by country (16.2.2.9) • Both the state and country name will appear in all geographic qualifiers • RDA 16.2.2.12 Alternative • Projects to adjust the name authority file and LCSH are ongoing • LC is being assisted by the University of California, San Diego • Catalogers should continue to use the existing headings as established until they are revised
