Industrial standard council : operational procedure was revised (4 level->3 level) ※Industrial standard council, standard council, division meeting, expert council -> Industry standardcouncil, technology council, expert council Operational procedure in industry standard development cooperation institute is expressly defined ※Procedure, basis for support, designation withdrawal conditions are newly included. Inspection period for KS certification for products is revised(every 3 to 5year -> every 3 year, new system will commence on ’09.1.1) ※Service certification period is newly defined as one year. Re-application for certification is limited for one year, when the cancellation occurs due to faulty product ◈Revision onIndustrial Standardization Act(Act NO. 8486, 2007. 5. 25. announced, 2008. 5. 26. executed)

Voluntary Safety Management System introduced (effective on ‘09.1) Products testing, filing, and direct marketing for less hazardous products like Electronic and IT products - Factory inspection and periodical inspection per year omitted (which has been done for present safety certification system) - total revision of electric appliances safety control act (‘07.12.21 announced) Safety Certification System maintained for relatively highly hazardous products including electric codes or heaters on it.

Self Conformity Assessment Declaration System introduced Self Safety Management System through self testing, safety confirmation, and sales Precede for newly developed products or less hazardous products among voluntary safety confirmation products Increase the subject products for self conformity assessment declaration products and minimize compulsory certification products ※ Draft of revision for Electric Appliances Safety Act is now ready for this System Revise would be proceeded during the regular session of the National Assembly
