Survey purpose - To take in the situation of the performing arts in Korea- To provide fundamental data for government policy-making • Survey population • Sampling method - Stratified simple random sampling • Survey method - interview and questionnaire by FAX, EMAIL and mails • Survey period - administrative organs : Oct. 17~Nov. 2, 2007 - theatres and companies : Oct. 29~Dec. 7, 2007 • Survey organization - administrative organs : Korea Arts Management Service - performing arts centers and performing arts companies : NI Korea Inc.

2. Artistic Company • Number of artistic companies - total 2,385 companies • Location - 1,283 companies (53.8%) located in the Metropolitan area (Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon) • Type of organization - 247 public companies(10.4%) - 2,138 private companies (89.6%)
