Integrated cross-border access to micro-data in OECD countries

Establishing an expert group focused on cross-border access to microdata to facilitate collaboration among National Statistical Offices. The OECD CSTAT committee will provide leadership to develop strategic processes for advancing shared access and analysis. Challenges include improving coordination, establishing efficient access procedures, conducting experiments, and advising Chief Statisticians. Initial work involves risk assessment principles, administrative requirements review, legal framework analysis, and creating a secure data center within the OECD. Early achievements include an OECD microdata "passport" for Australian and Canadian PIAAC surveys, with remote access for the Labour Force Survey underway.
