Opening Test Your Memory! Put each picture in your mind, and it will remind you of each commandment.
1st – other gods “You shall have NO other gods before Me” God should ALWAYS be in 1st Place ---The LORD of my life! Love God with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength. Luke 10:27
2nd – idols “You shall not make for yourself any idols” Don’t worship anything that replaces the REAL God of the Bible —Worldly stuff? My own self? Family ties?
3rd – God’s Name “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain” Do your lips or your actions ever hurt God’s reputation? As a Christian who witnesses to others, do MY choices cause them to reject God?
4th – sabbath “Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy” For MY benefit, choose a special day to re-fuel my spirit, rest my body, & build my family
5th – parents Honor your Father and your Mother Do I… obey their instructions?Do the things that please them? Submit to their authority?Honor and Love them? Value their opinion?Meet their needs?Keep in touch? It’s a good indicator of how well I’m walking with the Lord.
6th – murder Every human being is created in the image of God. “You shall not MURDER” Everyone who hates his brother is a murder. No murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15 Anger is an emotional response to personal hurt… that can turn into sin. Do I hate someone so bitterly that I cheer when they fail? Trust a JUST God to deal FULLY with the one who hurts me.
7th – adultery “You shall not commit ADULTERY” God calls us to inward & outward moral (sexual) purity. Worldly “freedom” actually brings slavery. Girls: Dress MODESTLY! Adultery leaves a heart broken
8th – theft “You shall not STEAL” Don’t be deceived- neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9th – lies “You shall not LIE” --or break your promise --or harm someone’s character (Number “9” is “lying” down) The cowardly, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, immoral persons, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will burn in the Lake of Fire, which is the second death. Revelation 21:8
10th – coveting “You shall not COVET” Do I really, really want something that God has NOT planned for me to have? OR… Am I CONTENT with what God has given me? Am I setting my affection on ETERNAL things?

Gospel 1 Why do you think God gave us the Ten Commandments?
Gospel 2 As a way to get to Heaven. As a mirror to look at.
Gospel 3 As a way to get to Heaven. As a mirror to look at. If you chose “A” you’re wrong.
Gospel 4 As a mirror to look at.
Gospel 5 In the same way, we don't realize what a bad state we are in until we look into the "mirror" of the Ten Commandments.
Gospel 6 Do you remember what #9 is?What is it?Have you ever lied? What about #5?Have you always obeyed your parents? What about #6?Have you ever hated someone? Have you always loved God? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you been greedy?
Gospel 7 Can you see the Ten Commandments are like the mirror -- they show us how bad we are, and how we need to be clean before the Day of Judgment. That is the Day God will punish people who have broken the Ten Commandments. They will be sent to a place called "Hell," a place where God doesn't want people to go.
Gospel 8 God doesn't want you to be punished. He loves you so much that He made a way for you to be clean before Judgment Day.
Gospel 9 To show you what a wonderful thing God did, listen to this story. A man had a son who was really bad. He did many bad things, including lying and stealing,
Gospel 10 and found himself in trouble with the police. They said he had to pay a $50,000 fine or go to prison. The son didn't have any money, and was about to go to prison.
Gospel 11 Then his dad stepped in and used his life savings to pay his son's fine. That meant that he didn't have to go to prison. It showed how much he loved his son.
Gospel 12 We are like that son. But God came down to earth and paid our fine by dying on the Cross. Jesus took our punishment on Himself. Then He rose from the dead. That means that we don't have to be punished by God. We can live with Him forever! It also shows us how much God loves us.
Gospel 13 What should you do? Ask God to forgive you for the Commandments you've broken (called "sin"), and then give your life to Jesus. Read Psalm 51 and make it your own prayer. When you do that, you will have God's promise that you are forgiven and will live forever. Then read your Bible every day (it's full of incredible stories -- start with the Gospel of John), and obey what you read. God will never leave you.
