Some Useful Definitions Organizational Theory - Group coordination and organizational interactions with other organizations and with the environment. Organizational Behavior - Attitudes & behaviors of individuals and groups in organizations. Management- The integration of people, groups, and divisions to achieve individual and organizational goals.

Trends Reshaping Organizations? • Hierarchies will still work in some settings, but we will see more organizations built as Networks. • More Technicians will be dealing with greater levels of automation. • Services will represent a great proportion of output and will often be included in products • Organizations are using more Virtual activities with teams working “at a distance” • Organizations and their employees will have to generate profits ethically.

In the Future . . . • “Everything” will get cheaper forever. • Cutting costs will not be the only answer. • Innovation to increase revenues and build profits is crucial. • Human capital (you/us) is the only real asset. It is the key source of innovation.
