This research project, led by Prof. Jane Marshall and other esteemed experts, explores the impact of bilingual aphasia on word retrieval difficulties. Understanding these challenges is crucial for improving speech and language therapy interventions for bilingual individuals with aphasia. The three-year study, supported by Barts and the London NHS Trust, aims to shed light on how bilingualism affects language processing and ways to tailor therapy approaches to address these unique issues. Through a collaborative effort, the team at City University and Barts and the London seeks to enhance treatment strategies for individuals facing word finding difficulties in bilingual aphasia.
