  2. Baseline data collection Enrollment and demographic/background data 11th and 12th graders in 2009-10: RPOS participants RPOS concentrators Concentrators in other CTE programs All other students

  3. Baseline data collection Program outcome data for the following groups of 12th graders in 2009-10: RPOS concentrators Concentrators in other CTE programs All other students

  4. Research questions How do the characteristics of (pre-) RPOS concentrators differ from those of concentrators in other CTE programs and nonconcentrators? How do the outcomes achieved by secondary (pre-) RPOS concentrators compare with those of concentrators in other CTE programs and nonconcentrators? How do the outcomes that secondary RPOS concentrators achieve vary according to the presence or absence of RPOS framework components?

  5. Baseline data analysis • Clarified data issues • Reviewed: • data availability • CTE and RPOS program sizes • Descriptive statistics of student characteristics and selected program outcomes

  6. Data availability Demographic & background data: Complete data for gender, race/ethnicity, free or reduced-price lunch eligibility, ESOL and disability status Data for attendance not available in all states, and test score data in some states not available for all students

  8. Issues going forward Data collection year 1: Limit to grade 12 students Availability of/alternatives to attendance and test scores in some states as measures of motivation and academic aptitude

  9. Issues going forward Data collection year 1, continued: Collect additional information on how data on postsecondary credits earned in high school are collected Postsecondary major related to secondary POS: how to define?
