  2. What makes a Great Coach • Build relationships with your players • It isn’t the 80’s and 90’s anymore. • Every players problems are the worse there are. • School is harder.

  3. What makes a Great Coach • Build relationships with your players • Don’t relive the glory days. You didn’t love to practice. • Kids work Harder then ever before. Year around training. • Everything becomes public

  4. What makes a Great Coach • Build relationships with your players • Parents pay more attention to kids futures Grade Checks • How many of you do them? • Your responsibility is more then just teaching football

  5. What makes a Great Coach • Positive Talk and Practice Design • Hold your water • Be smart with the ball • Positive Practice at the end of the week

  6. What will the results be. • Kids will run through a wall for you. • Your parent problems will almost disappear. • You will be given forgiveness from the kids as well as parents. • Your not perfect and can’t be. • 95% good the 5% mistakes wont be as big of a deal

  7. How do you Care at Practice. • Energy at practice • No matter how long your team has been with you, you are still the leader. • You will always set the tone • If you have a bad practice I guarantee your kids will have a bad practice.

How do you Care at Practice. • If you hell to correct a kid yell to praise the kid. • Coach don’t Critique • CATCH THE BALL • Don’t always yell talk • Ask questions and make them answer even if they don’t know it so you can find out WHAT they think it is. Sometimes the wrong answer will give you just as much info as the correct answer.

  9. Attitude and Effort • These are the only things any of us can control • Control your coaches • When was the last time an official changed a call. • Players will follow your coaches lead on the field and sideline (Championship Game)
